A Message from the President…

Our
Program Chair Rob Durning has made arrangements for a field trip to the
Dukane Precast Facility in Aurora,
August 7th. The day will
consist of a morning tour of the plant, then lunch and a short General
Meeting, followed by an afternoon inspection of a job site where a precast
assembly is being installed.
This should be a very informative day as many of these products are being
specified and subsequently used more and more in buildings throughout our
communities. This is an excellent opportunity to see them first hand in the
production stage and then in real field conditions.
Please take time to read more about
our meeting times and locations in this newsletter and on our website at
www.NWBOCA.org .
Plans are
under way for NWBOCA’s Fall School in November at Harper College.
Rob Durning (our busy Program Chair)
has been arranging excellent speakers and programs.
The dates are the first three
Thursday’s in November, the 6th, 13th, & 20th.
Information about class subjects will
be presented in next month’s newsletter.
If you are interested in volunteering for a position on
the NWBOCA Board, a soon to be formed Nominations Committee would like to
know. Although there is real a time
commitment, I’m sure any current or past Board member would tell you it was
well worth the time and effort. Keep
in mind this organization is as strong as its volunteers.
Please contact our Vice President,
John Jones, for information on becoming a member of either the Nominations
Committee or the Board
